| In his luscious compositions, Ramirez successfully creates an elegant tension between expressive, organic forms and mechanical precision. No matter the artistic medium (be it painting, print or installation) Ramirez imbues his refreshing palette with delicate line work and bold, biomorphic shapes. In his most recent suite of prints, Juicy Little Passion, presented here, the artist playfully composes bursting coils and spirals, supported by a curvilinear construction. | | Paul Henry Ramirez was born in El Paso, Texas in 1963. Now based in New York City, Ramirez has exhibited widely, including site-specific installations at the Aldridge Museum, Ridgefield, CT (2004-2006) and at the Whitney Museum at Philip Morris, NYC (2001-2003). He has had solo exhibitions at Caren Golden Fine Art and Mary Boone Gallery in New York City, Rena Bransten Gallery, San Francisco and Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard, Paris. |
